The first wk.end in April is General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The old saying is when the Saints Meet- the Heavens Weep…. this time around the weather was beautiful. No rain and the flowers were in full bloom, especially the tulips! We flew into Utah on April 2nd. The next day was time to spend with family!
First stop was to see Aunt Janie in Provo. (who is 91 years young). She is a legend in the music field as she directed the Young Ambassadors and the Laminate Generation!
Great Aunt Janie with Nick, Emily & Hailey!
We decided to climb to the ‘Y’ on the mountain for BYU. It was my first time so I felt compelled to do it with the grandkids….
Don’t underestimate the hike- it is straight up and the altitude is challenging for us Florida people!
We made it to the top…. Nick was disappointed that the ‘white’ was not snow!
This was Sat. the 6th- as most of you know the afternoon session was where Steve was called as a Seventy (6th Quorum) in our church. We met for lunch and a quick picture with some of our kids before it started (Sharsten & Tara inc.)
- We were so proud of Emily for attending Conf. and wanted to show her around…
After the session- thanks for coming :)
Had to put this picture in- Steve with his two sons (Patrick & Phil)
Spending time with Emily is a real joy for me. The beautiful Salt Lake Temple in the background where Steve and I were married for Time & All Eternity…
(Side note: Our 7 year old grand daughter Hailey said her Grandpa was called to his position because he gives ‘long prayers’ like the other old men )
