DESTINATION…….VERMONT…..

 My dear friend Cindy Cragun and I have been trying to get together forever…. she has moved to Calif. and I am still here in Florida. So finally we planned this trip!

We stayed at a Bed & Breakfast called the Fiddler’s Green Inn. Run by a colorful character named Bud…..

Sunday after attending church- Cindy and I drove to Sharon, VT. to see the Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial….

The weather was perfect!

 

  Emily’s Covered Bridge- story goes a couple wanted to be together but not allowed so upon finding her lover dead…. Emily hung herself from this bridge (has it’s own face book page)

Monday turned out to be our one and only rainy day but we still went to the Shelburne Orchard to pick apples. This was my first time :)

you pay so much by the pound so you gotta be careful…

when you’re done picking you can come back to Hot apple cider…

Last but not least… a tour of the famous Ben & Jerry Ice cream factory in Waterbury, VT. (town close to Stowe where we were staying). We both bought a pint to take back to the Inn (or farmhouse as Cindy liked to call it) but after a ‘Big Dinner’ there was no way we could eat it. So we had to donate to a lucky couple we met eating breakfast.

I must say goodbye to beautiful Vermont….

October in Utah…

This past wk.end we were able to be in Utah for General Conference and to also be with family, plus Steve had a law seminar to attend on Thurs. & Friday.

As tradition goes whenever I am in Utah I like to go to Gardner Village since it is decorated for Fall complete with what is known as the ‘Gardner Witches’. I met Ashley there for lunch!

 Sitting a Spell….

Friday evening we attended Shannon’s wedding reception. This is Audrey’s former mission companion and roommate from BYU. We are so happy for her!

On to the Florida Tampa Mission reunion where we were able to see the Sumps (who served as a senior couple there a few years back)

Sat. in between conference sessions we met Patrick, Ping, Ashley & Avram for Mexican food at the Red Iguana and then ice cream afterwards…

Elder & Sister Kopischke at General Conference with us.   The Kopischkes are from Germany, and speak fluent English. Steve works with Elder Kopischke often in his Church calling.

We enjoyed being on Temple Square, altho I didn’t get any pictures (hard when there is only two of you), had a Birthday dinner with James, his kids, JoAn & MaryAnn and got sore feet due to Steve and I both getting new shoes and then walking in them during Conference. As a final bonus as we were leaving to head home to Florida Patrick showed up at the airport with his dog Himo to see us off :)
