So Hip... to be Square....

Donna & her Dad have a tradition of going
to the annual 'Car Show' every year! This one
is put on by the Cool Cruisers- they have over
100 cars so it's worth the trip (only to G. Gate) Love the ole pick up trucks.....
Remember the drive up windows?

What's under your hood?

Unique firetruck...

For some reason this has become a favorite
color for me (reminds me of 'Fall')
I could drive this to church- don't ya think?

I hear you calling...

To remember our time in Israel we collected
5 stones each as we listened to the story of
David & Goliath and walked the area where
the battle took place, picked up rocks & salt
from the Dead Sea (even tasted the water)
and came to the edge of the Sea of Galilee
during the early morning hours.
(Thanks Dad for your artwork)

Muslim Quarter....

Our last day we walked through this area..
Donna bargained for 5 scarfs!

so colorful...

tempted to buy the vegetables but we couldn't
take them home!

Our hotel was close to the Muslim
area so 5 times a day there is a
'Call to Prayer' a reminder which
is a chant of sorts. It's played over
a loud speaker placed in a tower.
We discovered this our first day
when at 4:30 a.m the first one began.
Has to be before sunrise. We got
used to it after being there a week!

Oh Israel........

while visiting Bethlehem our driver almost
ran into this herd of sheep- so we were
able to get a picture!
our LDS friend "Mohammed' took
us on a tour of his hometown 'Bethlehem'
we're standing in front of Herodian
(palace of Herod)

Birthplace of Jesus

St. George & the Dragon church

The parable of the 'Millstone'
problems/trauma can be a millstone about your
neck but if taken care of can become a stepping stone.
This is the 3rd post.... more below....

Israel continues.....

Here we are with our guide- Steven Rona and
his twins- we are at the BYU Jerusalem Center for
Sabbath (on Sat.)
view you see sitting in Sacrament mtg.

wildlife in Israel (Donna's version)

Steve loved all the 'army/war stuff'
our guide also served- so guess what alot of
the conversations were about?

whenever a group goes out- adults
or kids from Israel they have a armed
chaperone- this one was nice enough
to pose for me :)
This was taken at Massada!

Hello Israel......

town of Jaffa- story of Jonah and the whale
85 % of Jesus' miracles happened here

salt from the Dead Sea....

Donna & our guide overlooking the town
of Bethlehem

This is a trip of a lifetime- so much to learn-
the scriptures comes alive as you visit in the
actual area the events took place. Our guide
was Steven Rona- he is a member of our church
and grew up in Israel, we were very fortunate
to have him without a tour group- just the
three of us. I will put several posts so here is
the first!
