The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a Boy Scout council can bestow on an adult volunteer leader. The award is presented to those volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it.

To my surprise I got the ‘Acorn Award’ for my service with the Cub scouts in Immokalee…
Doug Lewis gave a great introduction of Steve in preparation for the award and pictures were shown in the background. The ones that touched me the most were of our two sons (Phil & Patrick) with their Dad during scouting events and earning their Eagle Scout Awards.

I saw your post about this on Facebook. I told my husband, David about it. David said that he doesn't know anyone who deserves the Silver Beaver more than Steve. Congratulations, Steve. You really do deserve this award.

Thanks so much for letting me know about Steve getting the Silver Beaver award. What and honor and I know well deserved wish we could have been there for yours too. The scout program is so blessed to have leaders like you both. Hope all is well with you all we plan on coming down sometime after general conference. We plan on going out for it this year.
