We traveled to Washington D.C. with the BYU Law school from May 18th- 22nd…
It was a great day to explore!
Our first big stop was to the National Archives!

yummy treats- like this milk shake from the Potbelly- local favorite hangout!
afternoon was spent at the Holocaust museum- I had always read about this but until I saw details and pictures of actual people (like above) it gave me such a feeling of depression and sadness. My heart ached for the pain and torment they endured in this earth life.
IN MEMORY…
so much history- getting to the Lincoln Memorial was a story in itself!
as a side trip- we headed over to Alexandria, Va. to visit this historic town!
figured we’d try it out since we like George W.
Here we are- trying it out for lunch!
we also came to hear Pres. James Madison
The big event was waiting for Steve to get sworn in to practice (bring cases) before the Supreme Court!
The group was fortunate to be able to have Chief Justice John Roberts come in after the ceremony for a few minutes!
We also enjoyed our time with Jim Rasband- Dean of the BYU law school
I am very proud of Steve and all his accomplishments- he goes the 2nd mile!

( he took us on a private tour of the floor of the Senate- which is not open to the public. It was interesting to see each individual desk with their name plates. We were told during the civil war after the south seceded, Union soldiers guarding the Senate chambers bayoneted Jefferson Davis’ desk because he resigned congress to become Pres. of the confederacy (the desk is still there today).

What a fun time in DC. My brother used to live in DC while doing his residency at Walter Reed. Went to visit him a lot. Don't visit him as much now. Hmmm. Tell Steve Congrats!
WOW - double WOW. Way to go Steve! Hey Donna you'd better hang on to that guy. Thanks for the history lesson. I would sure like to go there someday.
