Yosemite National Park

Last post of vacation entering the park
Beautiful Day...

alot of waterfalls to see...

This was our famous $80 picnic
complete with mosquitoes!

we could feel the spray from the waterfall..

This was my usual spot in the car- between the
girls- we read books or sang songs! We have such
sweet grandkids...

Our ever daring 'Hailey'

I wanted to bring the pinecone home
but was told I'm not supposed to and
it would have been a challenge in my suitcase!

After spending the morning hiking (uphill) we were
ready to head back to 'Calabasas' for a much needed
rest. We had to leave the next morning very early!
Thanks for a great week- we miss you...

piece of the 'Berlin Wall'

Cannery Row in Monterey

What cute little Pirates!

Sea Lions were about!

Don't take a short walk off
a long Pier...
The Ronald Reagan Library was close by
to Calabasas where Phil and Carola live, but
the next day we drove to Monterey and spent
the night before heading over to Yosemite!

Sea World in San Diego...

5th post of vacation Sea World in San Diego
I bought this poncho to stay dry- it did come in handy for the ride!
Poor Hailey- she wasn't so lucky...

Lunch break with a 'Talking Cow'

Spinning tea cups = upset stomach!

Another fun day- we got sunburned and sore feet but
all part of the memories!

The Redwoods- Sequoia Nat. Park

These trees are huge! It's amazing to think
that some of them are 1000-2000 years old.
Imagine the stories they could tell?

Phil * Emily

Carola & Andrea

Steve jumped out to take our picture- there
was a line behind us!

Hailey and her G.pa...

Rattlesnake adventure.....

The area Phil & Carola live in is known for
rattlesnakes.... one morning on our way out
we saw one on the road- Carola called the
fire dept. to come and rescue it!
Here he is..... ready for action!
Fireman coming to help????

Steve & Nick enjoying the Big
Fire truck!
Carola thought the nice firemen
would take the snake to a
different location- but instead
promptly cut it's head off with
a shovel much to her dismay!

Steve thought he would take the
opportunity to collect the rattle
and add to his collection (being
as this is the first one). That of
course went into his luggage- no
where near mine!

Grandkids in CA.

Nick- enjoying our day at the beach!
While visiting I pulled out a loose
tooth from Emily- she was quite
happy at what the tooth fairy brought!

Aren't they cute? G.pa was making them laugh!

My little bakers! Making cookies
before I left. I sure do miss
my granddaughters!

Bubba Gump.....

First two pictures are taken in Crater Lake
National Park- very beautiful. We stayed in
a cabin and enjoyed the sounds of nature!

Andrea loves Pain au chocolat
(pastry w/ choc. inside)
we found some in a shop in
Monterey (yum).

very fun place to go- we recommend it to
everyone. The original Bubba Gump
resturant is here!

Whoa- how did he get in here! This elephant
seal (lovely creature) was sunning on the beach!

Gotta love 'em

I have a 'thing' for covered bridges! So when-
ever I get a chance I find as many as I can.
Steve is so good about helping me find them.
True love......
So enjoy the Covered Bridges of Oregon!

There were actually more- but I spared you!

Oregon-- a beautiful place!!

enjoying the water fall- views above & below

Coast line- path to a light house

This is the place- where as you older kids all
ran to jump into the water and came right
back out- after you felt how cold it was.
No it's not like the ocean in Florida!!
