Beloved Borrowby…

This village is about 20 minutes  from Harrogate

This Stone Cross is in the Village Square and was mentioned in the excerpts from Jane Bosomworth’s journal (as quoted in the John Ernest Thompson Family Book). 

We were lucky to find this cottage where Steve’s great grandfather- John Ernest lived with his wife Jane Bosomworth.

This is what it originally looked like- we were able to take this picture provided by the lady who now owns the house. The church in front has been replaced by a garden area.

As you can see the original beams are very low!

We feel very blessed that this cottage has been restored. I can almost picture the John Ernest Thompson Family standing out front as they did long ago…

The oldest son was THOMAS McTAVISH,so he was called THOMPSON,the "P" denoting those Thompsons are descendant from this man.
