We were fortunate enough to be able to stay in part of this abbey which is known as the Hotel Abbaye Royale De Fontevraud!

  What was special is that the church contains the recumbent effigies of Plantagenet King Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine, their son Richard the Lion heart and Isabelle of Angouleme. Some of whom we are related to…

Beautiful garden close by! The night before we had a very elegant ‘French’ dinner. It was a work of art and took us all evening to get to the final course!Known as a place of artistic creativity!
